the streets of south baltimore. >> the story is far from over. jennifer franciotti is live at police headquarters with details on the search for one of the abductors. >> police do have one suspect behind bars of this morning. they are still looking for another appeared in my bill looking for darrick brown if the was in for a woman with a good memory. he had been walking with friends on monday evening in southwest baltimore when he was kidnapped. helen jones was looking across the street at a vacant house when she saw a boy looking around. it's part her memory about an amber alert. called 911. police have one suspect in custody, nathaniel booker. they are looking for another man, raheem taylor. >> he wasn't crying or nothing. he was a strong little boy.

before we knew it, the grandmother was here. they were crying and -- oh, they were something. they were happy and crying all at the same time. shaking -- shaking and nervous. i was glad i watched the news. >> mrs. jones said when she called him over, he asked her to call his grandmother and said he was hungry. as for the suspect in custody, he is facing charges including kidnapping. investigators are looking into the possibility they may have known the family because some sort of a ransom had been mentioned. drugs may have been a motive. reporting live, jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. two teenagers are being treated at shock trauma after being struck by a car. the 70-year-old girl and the boys were struck near the

eareigh heights fire station. it is believed they were leaving a carnival at the time. long lines of cars parked along the shoulder. the girl's injuries are considered life-threatening. the boy is expected to recover. a plumbing contractor is recovering after being buried by a collapsed trench. happen any job site in laurel. the contractor had been digging a trench when it gave away and buried him waist deep. he is expected to make a full recovery. >> new details about the police officer tossed over the j.f.x. teresa rigby is out of the hospital. she was struck last month on 83 and october 8 retainer wall

seven-day forecast. >> a missing boy is safe for this family after a 12-hour kidnapping ordeal. >> the search for those who abducted him is far from over. jennifer franciotti has the latest on the average to bring them to justice. >> police do have one suspect in custody. this morning, darrick brown is home thanks to a woman who watches the news. it was around 7:00 a.m. tuesday morning. helen jones was on her front porch when something across the street made her think of a news report of an amber alert, something she'd seen on monday night. >> i said, i wondered if this was the little boy that they are looking for. >> jones would become the key to ending the frantic search for 8-year-old darrich brown, who police say was stuffed into the back of a trunk car by two men on gwynn avenue. 12 hours later and a few blocks away, jones looks over at a vacant house across the street

and she sees a boy looking around outside. >> and i saw this little boy. good. i howled to my daughter's friend -- that's the little boy they're looking for that's missing. and i started dialing 911 right then. >> she said darrick ran over and asked to call his grandma and said he was hungry. his captors had apparently left him in the house. >> he wasn't crying or nothing. he was a strong little boy. before we know it, the grandmother and them was here. and they were crying and -- oh, they were something. they were happy and crying all at the same time. and shaking -- shaking and nervous. i was just glad i watched the news. >> police later arrested one of darrick's alleged captors, nathaniel booker. they are still looking for another suspect, raheem taylor. police say ransom was mentioned and that's leading investigators to believe that they knew darrick's family. as for jones, she realizes she may have saved a little boy's

life. >> it makes me feel good. and when i think about it, i get choked up, as you can see. i think about what could happen to him. it chokes me up. >> police are hoping somebody who may have seemed raheem taylor's picture will give them a call. nathaniel booker is facing numerous charges including assault and kidnapping. >> police tried to determine when they lost the ability to record calls coming into their 911 line. provide critical information and often are used as evidence. the department first noticed the recording problem when a request was made for thte 911 calls about officer teresa rigby.

disciplinary actions and how the kids are disciplined in the school system. >> the naacp complaint is on behalf of african-american students. this past year, four african- american students were expelled from schools. that is a sharp decline compared to the 2005 numbers, which were 211. rights leaders say there is room for improvement. >> we're always tinkering around the edges of education. we need to make some serious changes. our children are falling apart. they are dying. some are dying and some, it is a slow death by a lack of educational opportunities. >> the two size will been seen their stocks with all students in mind. >> the spirit of that agreement is collaboration and
